Knife Crime Prevention

At Northwood Community Primary School, our PSHE curriculum is reactive to what is happening in our local community.  Unfortunately, we have had approximately 8 incidents regarding knife crime.  To combat this type of crime we joined forces with ‘Real Men Don’t Carry Knives’ initiative.  Alan Walsh visited the school and gave workshops for years 3 to 6 on addressing knife crime in our area and beyond.

At Northwood, we take knife crime seriously and hope that our children will be equipped with the knowledge and understanding of what to do in incidents that they may come across involving knives.  After the workshops delivered by Alan Walsh, the children became ‘Knife Crime Ambassadors’.

We will continue to address knife crime in our school and other incidents in our local community to make it safer for our children.
