Liz has served as a governor for over 18 years initially as a parent governor in her son’s local primary school and latterly as a co-opted governor at Northwood.
Her main reason for choosing to apply to be co-opted at Northwood, during reconstitution of the governing body, is that she felt it was vital that we had a strong governing body to act as a critical friend and challenge the head and his staff to ensure our school is educating our children to be the best they can.
Liz is a Registered General Nurse and a Registered Midwife and works at the Liverpool Women’s Hospital so she has the qualities required to maintain confidence and confidentiality which are paramount to her professional standards.
Liz also have the experience of financial planning which is imperative for ensuring budgets are set correctly as she has been Church Treasurer for over 10 years at her local church. She has a strong personality and has our children at Northwood’s best interests at heart which is why she has no problems in asking the tough questions that others may shy away from.
She contributes in many aspects of school life and is fully committed to her role as a governor which is reflected in her high attendance at all meetings and regular visits to the school. She has a good working relationship at Northwood and looks forward to being part of our school for many years to come.
