English as an Additional Language & School of Sanctuary
Northwood Primary School recognises that our children and families come from a diverse range of places and have had many different experiences. We are absolutely committed to our No Outsiders approach and believe that everyone is welcome in our school. We are currently working towards achieving School of Sanctuary status, to reflect how important it is to us to celebrate and support all of our families.
Schools of Sanctuary support the thousands of young people seeking sanctuary in the UK, raises awareness of the issues facing people in the asylum system, challenges misconceptions and builds social cohesion.
What does a School of Sanctuary look like?
- Is a place of welcome for all
- Educates about why people are forcibly displaced.
- Recognises that the UK is enriched by new arrivals.
- Supports pupils from all backgrounds to feel seen, supported and included
Please support and follow us on our journey.
