Annual Reviews
Annual Review
If your child has an EHCP, they will have a review of the outcomes within it each year, known as an Annual Review.
This Annual Review is a chance for parents/carers, educational professionals, the LA SEND team and any other professionals involved in your Childs care, to come to gather to discuss progress, support and may result in the EHC plan being changed.
Your child's class teacher will complete the Annual Review paperwork, with the SENCO, and it will be sent out to any additional professionals for their comments. The completed paperwork will be sent home to parents/carers at least 2 weeks before the date of the meeting.
During the Annual Review meeting all parties have a chance to talk and discuss. If appropriate your child will be included in the meeting, at the very least school will gather the child's voice as part of the process.
If we agree to change outcomes in the EHCP, the LA Send Caseworker will update the EHCP and send a new draft of the plan to parents/carers who have 15 days to read and raise questions or ask for a meeting to discuss the changes. After this time, the LA will issue a final draft of the EHCP.
At Northwood we want our Annual Reviews to be as comfortable and supportive as possible for parents and carers. We try to be flexible in terms of when we can meet and want to include all views in the process.
We will ask parents/carers to complete a survey after the annual review, to capture their views and ensure we are responding to parent/carer needs as effectively as we can. Don't be afraid to tell us what you really think so we can ensure we are always doing our best for you.
Interim Reviews
Parents/carers can request the their child's EHCP is reviewed at any time, they do not have to wait for the Annual Review.
Usually we hold an Interim Review if school/home feel that a child's needs have changed significantly or if parents/carers want to request a change of provision or placement.
Talk to Mrs C Hyland (SENCO/DSP Manager) if you want to request that an interim review is held for your child.
