DSP IMPACT
The aim of the curriculum and timetable for pupils within the DSP is to support every child to reach their full potential within all areas of their lives.
Specific time is given on a daily basis to ensure that all children’s sensory, social and emotional needs are met so that they are able to undertake any work that is set for them. Any work given, either academically or on a functional level is set at a level and pace that is enables the child to take their next steps in their learning, achieve and build their self-esteem and confidence. We ensure that these any skills, where appropriate, are taught in the real world context so as to increase independence and confidence. When children are in a position to, they can access our whole school assemblies, events, lunch hall and playground. The impact of this integration enables the children to grow in their communication and social skills, as well as developing their self-confidence, independence and self esteem.
All impact is assessed through our formative and summative assessment systems to ensure all children within the DSP make progress.
