Our Vision and Core Values
We are a NO OUTSIDERS school
We want our children to celebrate inclusion and diversity. They must feel like they are never an outsider and respectfully welcome people they meet with a non-judgemental attitude. No child is born to hate- this is learnt. We need to teach them to show love and respect.
The public sector equality act came into force across Great Britain in April 2011- this means that all public bodies have to consider all individuals when carrying out their day-to-day work in shaping policy, in delivering services and relation to their own employees.
Our children leave us destined for a role in modern Britain. A place where they will need to show such attitudes and possibly shape the minds of the next generation.
How we will achieve this ethos
- Planning half termly themes
- Weekly class assemblies
- Displays
- Emotion Regulation Policy
- All stakeholders buying into this strategy
- Making it high profile in school
- Wellbeing Champions
Wellbeing Champions
At Northwood we believe it is important to develop leadership skills alongside teaching our children to become good citizens within our school community and beyond. Our No Outsiders programme supports the promotion and education of diversity and equality. Our Wellbeing Champions promote this throughout the school and work closely with the Wellbeing Team, Mrs Livesey and Miss Janischewski to promote these important messages across our school and local community.
