Safeguarding
Northwood Community Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Child Protection Policy which can be viewed here
https://www.northwoodcommunityprimaryschool.co.uk/policies/
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies, when there are concerns about a child's welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents/carers first, unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child's welfare.
We actively support the Government's Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.

Operation Encompass
Our school is part of Operation Encompass which is a national scheme that operates jointly between schools and police forces.
Operation Encompass is the reporting to schools, prior to the start of the next school day, when a child or young person has experienced domestic abuse.
At NCPS part of our inclusive vision is to ensure that our staff, children and families have the tools to support their mental health and wellbeing and can access the right support and services when they need to.
If you are worried about your child's well being/ mental health please contact school and speak to the learning mentors.
