Financial Education
Our Vision for Financial Education
Is the issue of managing our finances a personal and private affair? Perhaps! Is there a need for us to discuss the role of money in our lives, our attitude to it and the pitfalls of mismanagement?
We believe, from an early age, children should learn about such things as spending and borrowing; understanding interest and the world of credit cards; the benefits of saving and delayed gratification; the negative impact of debt and the need for forward planning and discipline. This includes attitudes to work and education.
For such reasons, and more, Financial Education is a vital part of our curriculum at Northwood Community Primary.
The Centres of Excellence programme recognises and rewards schools who are committing to, developing and continuing excellence in financial education in their own school and beyond.
